This is a very interesting contraption. I'm hoping it may help me meet new clients for Medusa. My dear slithery serpentine darlings could do so much better than being wrapped about wanton whores in bikinis in smoky strip clubs every night. It's so demeaning.

Mr Rodgers is suffering too. He wants to dance again. He's recently developed a prediliction for speed garage, which I can't say I care for. I've tried to teach him the ways of jazz but he's not interested, and far be it from me to upset him. I'm happy enough, but I feel I need to expand somewhat. Any ideas? My snakes are highly trained and immaculately behaved, and I'm willing to negotiate fees.

Vincey! Oh, so nice to hear from you. Mr Rodgers misses you very much. You must come and see him some time.

I'm terribly sorry, but who is Howard?

howard... used to work at the zoo with us? tall, lummox-shaped man with hair like curly pasta? except the hair was brown, not pasta-coloured.

Sorry, I still don't seem to recall him.

Mr Rodgers isn't so good at the mixing, sadly. He always danced to someone else's tune. And sadly, at this moment, that someone else is missing from our lives.

ah, well, i thought that might be the case.

someone's elses tune? whose? not those infected mushroom remixes, i hope. they're not suited to a snake who's getting on in years.

Mrs Gideon! You have one of these things too, then! They seem to be a most interesting communicative device. It's great that I can keep up to date with what you're up to, and perhaps this might make it easier for us to have jazz chats, eh?

It's me, Howard. Howard Moon, from the zoo? I was Head of Aviary, remember?

Howard Moon.

Vince was my assistant?

Head of Aviary? No, I'm sorry. I can't say I'm too fond of birds, I tended to avoid it.

I really don't remember Vince answering to anyone else.

Thank you, kind sir, but I do know how to handle myself. When you spend as much time in, as you say, 'gentlemen's clubs', you learn how to deal with undesirables.

Hello there.

My suggestion? You need a night off. Let me take you out. I assure that things will seem much clearer in the morning.

Well, how could a lady resist such a charming offer? I'll see if I can get a babysitter for Mr Rodgers, and I'll RSVP.

I think you'll find that the exceptionally rare and valuable hooded king cobra in your possession that goes by the name of Mr Rogers is acually an asset of the business formerly known as the Zooniverse and, therefore, proberly belongs to me. Return him at once or I shall be forced to take Action, sir! I mean, madame! I mean...just give the snake back, woman!

I think you'll find that Mr Rodgers was put into my custody as part of my redundancy package. Mr Fossil should still have the paperwork. I agreed it all with him, he was very accomadating to my wishes.

So, no, you cannot have your snake back, as I have all the relevant signatures and paperwork proving that he is very much my snake.

It's not my fault if you have no control over your assistant, not mine. Good day, sir.

Well, I'm sure, if you were serious we could come to some arrangement. They're not just a pet, but a lifelong companion.
